As my short animation Beacon is shown publicly, I will update here. As of August 2022, it has been selected for a number of festivals, and has won several awards (including Best Visual Effects). This is an IMDB listed film.
An industrial artifact set in a lonely landscape continues operation over time despite the absence of a purpose. This semi abstracted narrative focuses on time, and the inherent beauty of all forms.
Beacon is a 3D animation produced using Side Effects Houdini. All geometry is polygonal, and the grass was produced procedurally using duplicated curves with VEXpressions to vary the size, color, and angle of the individual blades. All matte paintings were produced using Adobe Photoshop. The piece was edited using Adobe Premiere. Other than the music, the soundscape was recorded by me with a H1n recorder.
